Black Sand?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I prefer the natural looking back ground I feel it adds some dimension. I ahve this one (the bottom blue one) http://www.thatpetplace.com/double-sided-aquarium-background-24-in-high

But it is all about what you like either black or blue will look good.

BTW how long have you had that mix together? Surprised the FH hasn't killed some of those fish.

I had the 'Black with wood' background On my 400g 36" tall. I ended up buying 20 feet of it to match up the top and bottom pieces absolutely perfectly. Looked great but I'm looking to keep this one simple and let the decor in tank be the centerpiece.

Flowerhorn is a juvie at 4" but I had great luck with a flower horn I grew out as a juvie in a community tank who grew out to 13" before dying of parasites. Hoping I can raise this one the same.

This is my tank. White sand and blue back ground I have had many color fish (peacocks, severums, clown loaches) in there and they looked great. It did wash out my GT and frontosas. I currently have naturally lighter color fish.

NICE! I have that same background on my 125 currently. Was thinking a deeper solid blue or black for the 180. Love your natural decor setup!

What kind of bichirs? Some look better on black while others get worse on black

Senegal, Albino, and Delhezi. Also Endlicheri and Ornate but selling them.

Delhezi look great on black sand! I think they look the best on black. My teug looks okay Not great tho

Awesome! looking forward to black sand

Black sand and black background make every color pop!

Wow definitely does pop! I like the brightness of blue though

Yeah Id go with black then the albino with look awesome in it and the delhezi will get dark and probably get green as well, the Senegal if your lucky will also get green, but will at the least get a nice dark brownish gray

oh yeah haha if you think they look good on bare bottom you'll love them on black I made the same transition and mine all looked WAY better

same thing happened to mine, but when I put it on garnet you could start to see the patterns. However when I had all my upper jaws on black they looked amazing, and they lost the dark greenishness from the black, but kept their patterns when I put them on garnet. However I can guarantee to the OP that you'll love the polys on black especially the del and albino.

Wow that is a very washed out endli.. I had two in a black tub that maintained their color with the black plastic bottom. Strange
