Yes thats an arapaima, which store in the Bay Area is selling Arapaimas lately? In San Francisco right?

that is a 100% true pima....
you should get rid of it unless you can house it. they have an incredible growth rate, and IMO, they are not suitable for private aquaria unless you have a tank like johnptc or arapaimag.

Idk the store my mom just said she went to a store to buy some dog food and the reason I ask abotu the brackish tank is because I live on a brackish lagoon easily exceeding 25,000,000 gallons

well, honestly, I don't think it would be a good idea to put it into a Brackish lagoon.
Is there any way you can check the salinity? If it's too high, it won't be suitable. even if it has a low salinity, i still think it would be better to give it away or sell it.
