I think it's worse to stick a shark in a tiny tank because they most likely wild caught ( expects feel free to correct me) and sharks have more pressures on them.

Goldfish and bettas are captive bred. Not saying it's good to stick them in tiny bowls...Just saying it's not as bad.

Because if you want to compare space to space... keeping a shark like that in say a 500 gallon is like keeping a 12" oscar in a 10 gallon or a betta in something smaller than a shot glass. It's about providing what the animal needs. It has nothing to do with the tank sizes we toss around. We just use them as a base to go from. Even that is probably wrong. Saying a 10,000 gallon without saying its dimensions is poor thinking. If it is a verticle cylinder that is only 2 feet around, that would never do. But a 10,000 that is 3 feet deep and very broad would be prefect.

Doesn't look like that shark fully understands the concept of corners, like has been said many times about requiem sharks.

He still looks sweet, any updates on the 10,000?

You shouldnt be buying fish simply becasue of the looks, you should buy fish based on your system, which are compatible, and which are able to thrive in such a set up for their FULL life time.

You should absolutely buy fish based on their looks. You just need to house them COMFORTABLY for life. If it looks awesome but you can't house it then you shouldn't get it.

An Oscar will live comfortably in a standard 180 gallon but why get the one with a missing eye and damaged fins.

TunerX- You know what I was getting at. Seeing as I base most of my knowledge around elasmobranches you would be surprised how many people purchase Sharks simply based on looks and the ones which look the most "jaw" like. Seeing as the most aquarium friendly specimens are not the most "shark" like looking often inexperienced hobbiest go directly to such sharks as the Blacktip Reef becasue of its looks. Tis' which research is key before making any purchase.

Um. It's not Craig's fish so don't flame him. It's his friends'

At least he's going to a 10k tank, it's better than what most get(in captivity).
