I see no flaming, only the stating of opinions and facts. If I saw flaming, it would be deleted and if I saw multiple flames, it would be closed.

yeah right you guys nothing

i wouldnt waste the money on all those crap but use it to pick up some chicks. but really cool looking shark btw.

No Offense this is just plain horrible, I think that black tips and all other sharks should be banned from the public, and only be allowed in Public Aquarium but, VLD Design ? (sp) you really cant talk either because, your shark tank doesn't look to picture perfect either. First, In your picture underneath your name your Marbled Cat Shark looks to be lying on crushed coral. Which really isn't comfy to sharks, also your tank is 250 gallons thats not so big when it comes to a shark that can grow a little bit bigger then 2 feet. Second lets say your 6 feet thats like me putting you in a 18ft by 36ft enclosure. for the rest of your life. Thats like you living in your living room for the rest of your life, I take it after 10 years your wouldn't be happy. So no offense VLD i just don't think that you can make fun of a guy when your pretty much doing the same. Now correct me if I'm wrong, because i know I'm not perfect and we all make mistakes.

Oh sorry i did make one mistake, I guess you have two of them and there not Marbled but Coral Cat Sharks. If you where to think about it thats 110 Gallon a piece and thats defiantly not enough space for those kind of sharks. Sorry if that sounded mean i didn't mean it too be I justed wanted to voice my Opinion *hides behind rock*

Actually a 250 is plenty of room for Coral cat sharks as the foot print is 6' x3' and they average about 22" in length, so actually they have plenty of room. These sharks are not active like the Black Tip reef shark so im not doing the exact same thing as Craig like you claim. You are comparing two completly different species of sharks. That's like comparing the space requirements of a common house cat to a Lion.

Actually sounds like you need to do some more research on the Coral Cat sharks before you spout off about space requirements. "Not to be mean"

And if you look into the new pictures of the tanks in my gallery you would see that they are in 100% "oolic" sand tanks. The photo under my name is also 90% "oolic" sand and 10% crushed rubble rocks from when my puffer was in that tank prior to the Sharks.

And finally, unlike Craig my sharks are not cold water sharks in tropical waters. Nor do they need to swim to stay alive. So really, I am just like Craig? lol cmon.

what really bothers me is that 2 moderators are alowing the flaming and not just closing the thread... seriously all opinions have been stated and so have the doubts... now leave it alone....

Mods will make that call when the time comes. From what I saw, it was all truth.
Now that this is turning a new direction, it's being watched more. ;)

If someone is going to post up pictures (from this site) and claim they are theres, I think a little public humiliation will teach a powerful lesson.

First, is that monkey real or a stuffed animal? Second, until i see pics, i don't believe you're buddy is building a 10k. Third, 10k is plenty for a black tip, that is far larger than most adult specimens ever see in captivity. And as far as it growing to 6 feet, no thats not true. It might grow to 4 feet in captivity and that will take 5 years. Fourth, why do you have that shark in a 180 right now?

JohnPTC had Sam and SOS in a 5 k for years, and kept DOS in a 400 gallon. People saying black tips need at least 50k are crazy. 50k would cost a million dollars.

Drewmprs - You obviously know nothing about Sharks, so clearly your post is one not to be taken into mind. Just becasue majority of Blacktips do not make it into 10,000 + gallon systems does not mean they do not need them. What type of experience do you have with Sharks? Probable none so how can you make such claims. You cannot compare a Pima to a Blacktip both extremely different fish. Lastly 10,000 is not plenty for a Blacktip, and if you think a 50,000 gallon system would cost you millions you clearly know nothing about large set ups.

Experience with Sharks? Only someone who's been bit has experience. Any captive black tip living in a 10k is living like a billionaire, and living in a 50k would be living like bill gates! Most blacktips i've seen are in less than 1000 and have a small footprint. I said a 50k would cost a million, not millions. A circular 4" 50k acyrlic tank would cost a million dollars by the end of the year if you factor in pumps, water changes, food, sharks, and electricity.
