Congrats on your pick up. My Black Wolf "Lobo" is playing nice in my community tank(few months now),

Right now housed with a VATF and 2 large convicts. Things are good so far, he learned to eat pellets from watching the others. But as is the case with most wolf fish, all peace is temporary. Phineas (the name is of my black wolf) is still pretty young, and every week he gets a little bigger and a little braver.

that wolf is eventually going to eat those convicts and might mess with the VATF depending on its size.

Yeah I have other tanks the convicts can go in, just wanted then in as teacher fish to get him eating pellets the way I want. The VATF and he are currently coexisting, when things get tense I have an empty tank I can set up to separate them. Right now they kind of shoal together, but I know that won't last forever.

Tank size plays a part but I have had very few issues with curupira and others, As long as it's not small enough to eat, slightly larger is usually tested. Other Hoplias has never worked out though.

VATF not a problem.
