I have read previous threads stating that bleekeri is not available in the hobby or at least really hard to come by.
I found this on a website and it is being sold under paratilapia bleekeri name but the question is: Is it safe to assume that this is a polleni and that being said i can put it in my 120 gallon with an oscar and i am aware about different water needs for this fish than the oscar's but since this fish are tank raise and not wild wouldn't they be used to different water parameters already?
I contacted the seller and he says that all his tanks use the same water. africans, central and south americans cichlids. Capture+_2018-05-02-10-36-29.png

I’m pretty sure that that the photo is a bleekeri but it’s most likely that they don’t actually sell bleekeri and rather polleni

reason i want the polleni with the oscar is i know they are smaller than the bleekeri but aggressive enough to stand to the oscar.

Without a collection location attached, they all become aquarium strain polleni.

Beside the normal aquarium strain polleni,
there are Large Spot (local names Akandra North, and Marakely Central) AKA andapa and actually recognized species name (andapa directly below)

P typus (East Coast)
sp Betsileo Highlands (local name Fiamanga)
those from the southwest
and Paratilapia small spot Northwest
the above terms were as of 2002, form the book "The Endemic Cichlids of Madagascar (Patrick de Rham and Jean-Claude Nourisasat)
below is a small spot

Because early on, many aquarists didn't realize the number of species, many were crossed, and have become the normal aquarium strain.
The name polleni was used first in describing the species (1862) and this negates bleekeri because it was used later (1880)

Many thanks. I already order one and i will post pictures as soon as i get it.

bleekeri are not found in the hobby. The following past discussion explains the status on bleekeri vs polleni. http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/threads/id-on-paratilapia.586179
I have 5 of them! Bleekeri not polleni! Only 1 I am unsure of. They are stressed, in with larger breeding cichlids! I would have to ask my breeder for more details on where they came from, etc.. but Bleekeri IS found in aquarium trade! I'll let the site know when they successfully breed and my juvies in the tank don't eat the eggs/fry!
