Sounds like the fish has been kept in rather sub par conditions which has caused the eyes to go bad.In such case,a crime for such a rare fish,is it a dieing fish?Depends on if it continues to languish in unhealthy conditions but probably not if it is bought and rescued.

i think its quite a good price for it and a real good size.
i had a tiger shovelnose that had no eyes at all (not from me i rescued it like that) and it ate and swam around all the time i know its a diffrent fish but i dont think you would have a problem.
go buy it and post some pics.

I've heard about this guy, I was gonna try to come see him late this week. I'm also thinking of taking in a blind NTT so I guess I give the "unperfect" ones a shot once in a while. I'd say go for it, if it doesn't work out it'd be a bummer but you'd be out a lot less than what it was fully worth when healthy. If it works out and he stays healthy that'd be a pretty sweet pick up you know? If you don't get him I may.. lol

I wouldn't worry about it starving. Fish also rely on smell to find their food. Its up to you if you want the fish. I would buy it if I really liked it. Not because it could be worth money.

I did not get him yet. I will be calling the store after my vegas trip to see if he is still available. I dont want to get him yet because I wont have the time to take care of him while I am out for a few days. Here are some pictures that I took when I first saw him. Gage if I end up not picking him up you can swoop him up. :)

Sweet, just let me know when you decide. I'm not rushing I'll wait for a response, I wouldn't wanna do a fellow MFKer dirty like that. lol
