People don't like them because its morally wrong. Most die in the dying/tattoo/mutilation process and have a shorter lifespan which is a big reason why its oppessed.

Oh ok. I never thought about the moral part of it. I only asked because I bought some and pretty much just found out they are dyed red cause of the purple tint. It sucks they do these things to fish.
Ok... so what about a Mammons and kkp's? I wonder if they are crosses between parrots and/or synspillum?

On another note, and sitll not questioning the citrinellum x sysnpillum origin, why would this cross give this particularly morphologically strange fish?

There are countless examples of hybrids out there and all look like " normal" CA's in morphological aspect. And a lot of these hybrids are the result of crosses betwen amphis and viejas.

Why this particularly different fush, with these two original species?

Sometimes strange things work out in hybrids. Take ligers(male lion x female tiger) for example, they have uncontrolled growth and dental problems, but a tigon will be fine even though they have the same parental species, just with sexes switched.

This makes me wonder if parrot shaped fish can result from a male citrinellum and a female synspilum as I have only seen it with the synspilum as the male. I know the article says it is from male citrinellum and female syn, but I have seen no parrot shaped fish from pairings like this.
