my blood parrot is picking up gravel with its mouth and spitting it out to the side making like a ditch. what does this mean...?

Probably getting ready to spawn..

Also, sometimes they'll move stuff around just because they don't like where you put it.

well i don't think it has a choice if it doesnt like where the gravel is... its everywhere lol. but if it spawns its probably infertile right? i read that they dont really lay fertile eggs. i dont even know if its a female or male. the internet says the only way to tell is if there egg tube is showing?

What else do you have with it? Females can lay eggs - they just won't be fertilized if there's no willing male. A couple days after laying them, if unfertilized, they'll start to turn white, and she'll start to eat them.

i just have a jack dempsey, pleco, and small clown loach with it

Well, your loach, and pleco are out. :D

Dempsey male, or female? How big? Mines about 2.5 inches, and doesn't seem to have the least bit of interest in breeding. Food holds far more interest.

yeah if the pleco breeded with it i would have like parrot plecos and they would be the most useless fish ever. but the dempsey is male, and probably around 4 - 4.5 inches. he grew a lot in this first month.. i got him around 3 inches a month ago.

It's possible, but I'm going to doubt it... Unless they're teamed up, and he's spitting rocks with her. All you can do is wait and see.. If she does lay eggs, tho, personally, I'd get rid of them.

the funny thing is i got it on saturday. and they hated eachother and now all of the sudden they swim together and don't mind each other at all. i guess we'll see what happens. he hasn't spit rocks with her/him but he does follow it around
