Blood Parrot.

I have a 12” male BP, someone has now spiked my interest on what he may be a cross of.
He suggest a Synspilum x Midas.

Does anyone have an idea?
I currently have a female who has laid (not the first time either of my 2 females have laid eggs) and it’s now day 4 of them not molding or turning white...hoping they’re viable.
These photos don’t do his size justice, mostly just for shape.

Wow, nice parrot!!

I'm thinking more Synspilum /Devil because of the longer snout and oval type shape. Two of my parrots that have Midas ancestry show a steeper profile.

Hi guys I need ur help I currently have a 63 gallon tank with 2 sevs 1 angel 2 gourami and 1 blue acara I am thinking abt getting some blood parrots would my tank be able to hold them or is it already stocked enough

Uhh... please tell me that is a dwarf gourami...

If not you are overstocked as it is.

No it’s is not a dwarf gourami they are three spot gourami I don’t rlly think the tank is to over stocked it has good filtration and none of the fish seem to aggressive I was thinking of getting like to bps

I’d say it’s fully stocked as is, once the fish get full grown that won’t leave much room for the parrot (more realistically the parrot would start harassing others).

Way overstocked at adult size. Plus, parrots get more aggressive as they age.

Severums 8+ inches
Parrots 6-10+ inches

Not enough room or water volume. Minus substrate and deco you're probably more at 55-57 gallons. And that's assuming the parrots will all get along later.

"Gallons" for these tanks are measured by outside dimensions. I really wish manufacturers would give real gallons as well.

Ok thanks I might look into getting some krebensis or other smaller type of cichlid would any1 reccomend some nice cichlids with some colour and a decent size Thanks

I really wouldn’t add any more cichlids to that tank, but rams, kribs, and apistos all have color.
If you want anything extra look into larger tetras or livebearers.
