Would a pair of Blood Parrots, apprx. 4" long be safe tankmates with a smaller blue lobster?

Most cichlids are safe with crays, if I am understanding correctly?

I think it depends on the cichlid and the crayfish.

I had a Procambarus alleni ("Electric Blue Crayfish") adult catch and eat a few Yellow Labs because it decided it didn't feel like eating sinking pellets that week. *facepalm*

I've also had Dragon's Bloods pester the ever-loving hell out of some of my O. lancifers.

So, I think it's going to depend on what species of crayfish you have and then the overall personality of Blood Parrots (which I don't know what that is, I've never kept them).

IMO would not put any species of crayfish/lobster into same tank with blood parrot.

I would say the could be a good mix. Just give the crayfish some hideouts. But the parrots can hold there own i would imagine. They are to big to just be snatched up and if they get nicked then they will learn to stay away.

It's Crayfish Roulette! <TM>

Will the crayfish get a hold of the blood parrot and have a little lunch? Or will the blood parrot keep out of harms way until the big molting, and have some lunch of it's own? Tune in and find out!

I just got a blue lobster/crayfish(about 3in) today, and put it in my 125gal. mbuna tank. Theres 15 med. size cichlids in there now, but i'll have to check tomorrow lol.
Anyway i goofed when i put the ghost shrimp in the tank with the mbuna's, the lady at the pet store said crayfish eat small shrimp so I just threw them in there not thinking. The cichlids ate all the shrimp before the crayfish could get any. Lesson learned on that, i'll have to try buying small frozen shrimp and hide it were the crayfish can only find it.

On a side note, i've had a male gold fiddler crab(about 2in.) in the same tank for nearly 6 months with no problems. Althouth I "HAD" a female fiddler also, but she went on the local home tour, via the log coming out of the water express. Long story short my wife thought it was a spider and killed it with Raid roach killer.
