i would say its alright colouring compared to most acaras they suck ass in colouring and are dull well at least my other 2 are, iam anoyed 1 of my fish has take a chunk out of my acara i suspect the kribs they are breeding.

Ok thanks for correcting me. Just at a first glance looks like a gold saum. I have a stereo-type of what Blue Acaras should look like, bad habbit.
haha i have never seen a blue acara that good and never will also they are different shades of blue to that more darker
I don't know if it's a dominance thing or if they prefer company of their own kind but I have found their colouring to be far far better if you have 2 or 3 together
i have 3 together 1 realy nice 1 pictured before and 2 dull 1s which have had diseases and what not
If it is an Acara or a Saum I wouldnt get to worked up about live food as they'll eat anything you chuck in the tank ....They are not predatory by nature at least no more so than most Cichlids
I would say that there is no reason to feed your BA feeders. even if you were breeding them yourself. Too risky and no benefit. Try a high quality pellet. It will bring the color out.
yeah my acara has never had a feeder never has any of my fish, but if you do its up to you and it can be risky and can make the fish choke on the feeder
