Blue Arowanas

their is no such thing as a blue aro its a black aro
 
T1karmann, I do understand that this is a Black, but it does have a blue color to it and I was just asking if the blue color goes away as it get bigger or does some of the blue stay.
 
black aro... adult blacks have blueish fins

i posted a pic of one on the first page of this thread...not sure if it's real, but it was taken from a magazine. it's a asian scleropages (except its blue), but i have seen blacks that have a bluish color to them when the black starts to fade.
 
its bule based... there are no blue arowanas.... they have a blue shine

It says penanbru, or benanbru, not sure what the ?enan means, but the bru means blue. on the right that is the same, but golden.
 
The blue is not a separate species as once rumored to be. They are just black arowanas. It is quite likely that they come from an isolated area (limited gene pool) of fish that may have a little more coloration to them. I have had some nice black arowanas as adults, and some of them had a gorgeous blue tint to them.

I wouldn't pay more for an aro because someone calls it a blue. I would pay more for a nicely colored fish because it was to my liking though...
