Anyone got any idea why my Bifa are totally blue in color? I have from Jeff Rapp from 2 separate orders but all turn out to be totally blue.

This pcs already 5"

I'm not an expert on these fish but if I saw it and knew nothing else about it I would think it was Vieja Guttulatus.

i dont know either but i brought a bifa and it looks exactly the same as yours

Doesn't look like a typical bifa. Usually they are red and black with some yellow mixed in. Mine have pretty much no blue. Could be a different collection location or maybe there was a mix up with them. I'm sure if you email Jeff some pictures he can help you out. They are definately not what you would typically expect a bifa to look like though.

If you post this in Jeff's section I'm sure he would be able to clear it up. http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?86-Tangled-Up-In-Cichlids

Thank you. Will drop him a msg.

I agree with jgentry's comments.

@lyc, I have never seen a 'bifasciatus' that looks like yours (that doesn't mean it doesn't exist though). The blue coloration is more like P. zonatus or sp. Coatzacoalcos have. Here's a pic of my 'bifasciatus' Rio Chacamax and my sp. Coatzacoalcos.

Yours really doesn't look like either of these. Wonder what it is?

Jgentry just because it dosnt look like a typical biffa to ypu dosnt mean its not. Lyc if jeff posted them as what you said then they are 100 percent that.
