Blue Black Arowana

Is it true that there is a blue variant of the black arowana? Or is it that they are just a phase?

I don't think its a phase. I once saw two blue arowanas at my LFS. Their whole bodies, even their eyes, were this shiny, light bluish, almost metalic color. And they were already about 12 inches long.

Okay, here, I found one that looks exactly like the ones I saw at the LFS.

blues an dblacks are essentially the same thing. when the blacks are small they are all black with a yellow stripe, if i'm not mistaken. i haven't seen a small black in a while. when they grow bigger they lose their black and eventually turn into blues like the pic above.

Only one species, though some may show more blue coloration.

Yup there is a blue and black arrowana it's just that there hard to find.
