Blue Black Arowana

No they start to get blue coloration as small as 6".

Why does everyone get hung up on this, these are just common names. Blue or black the same species and has nothing to do with size.
 
yea thats what i meant like people just call them blue when they develop blue and get bigger just same species
 
Its the same difference! :D.....blue/black...on in the same...black as fry, then eventually turn blue.

this is what i heard. I heard that blue aros are older variations of black aros, but that's just what i heard...
 
ok so this is how it goes! as juvies these fish are the colorful blue that you see (granted that they are not the dyed variety) as adults they turn black. they are the same fish though.
