Has anyone else ever had trouble with this media not passing water well after you rinse it out? After I have rinsed the pad and placing it back in my sump after only a couple days the water isnt going through it very well and thus running over the edges of my drip tray. The pad is pretty much perfectly clean, but obviously the fibers or something in the pad now are more tightly packed and causing this. When I rinsed it out I just layed it in a tub of water, swished it around, squeezed, ringed it, pretty much everything to get all the crap out of it.

i spray it out with a handheld shower nozel. maybe you squeezing and wringing it out it compacting it? it does gunk up in the middle pretty good even though it might look clean, and will never work as good as new once clogged. it will also last longer if you clean it before it clogs up.

I am sure that the ringing and squeezing did that to it. I guess I am just curious as to how people clean them to get the longest life out of them before using a new one.

Typically Ill clean it once a week or once every two weeks, just under the faucet. Ive had them last up to a few months, before there clogged up an useless.

Well thats about right then. I only cleaned mine once, but it has been running since November sometime.

I used those a long time ago. I always put them in the washing machine with no soap and cold water. Comes out nice and clean. They would last through several washes before needing replaced.

Actually that is a good idea. Did you put it in the dryer or hang it out to dry?

Nobody ever reads the directions...DRY CLEAN ONLY... (can you imagine    )
