Hello. I have a 8" blue channel in a 30g freshwater tank with 3 columbian sharks, 3 angel fish and an algae eater. I know cats get pretty big, as I've only had him about a month, and he's grown about 4" already.

Quickly he'll outgrow the 30, but wondering how big I should go?

as I see blue channel cat for sell at LFSs is just normal channel cat, they can grow up to 3' in captivity so and pond that 600 gallon or more should be good!

Thanks for the info!

OK - that was my plan, probably by the first of the year into a pond.

For what it's worth I had a channel cat for two years. It grew to 24" in about a years time. Then his growth slowed coinciderably and was only about 26" when I gave him to a friend with a private pond.

I will definetly post some pics soon. I'm at work right now or else I'd do it now.
