blue convict

alright i give up.everyone is telling me i have something different.if any of my friends ask, i'm saying its a special Petco "mystery fish"LOL

I still say it's just a normal female convict, I cannot see any other species of fish in your's or the picture I posted and I'm not about to say it's a hybrid based on a bit of blue around the anal fin and gills. Of course, I cannot prove that unless I find a picture of a proven pure blood convict cichlid that displays the same color, a nearly impossable task.

Here is another picture of a female convict I got off of fishbase.org, it was taken by Johnny Jensen.

Thats funny because I was reading the article in the latests Tropical Fish Hobbyist and Rusty Wessel, and he said that one of the differences is the broke bands on the HRP that the true convict does not have. You might not of had a true HRP, it might of been bred either by a hybrid or a hybrid.

And I have seen a lot of sajica x con hybrids and I have noticed a lot of the time the fry usually have a bolder middle stripe.

in the article of TFH it states that "the third stripe from the eye coming across the shoulder is a broken black band"........not every band.......so i agree its a normal convict with blue coloring............
