Blue dempsey

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
remember that blue dempsey's are incredibly blue, so not sure how nicely that would contrast. Kind of limited with the 75 though. But it's all i got.

if you like your Ca/Sa Cichlids then avoid the firemouth - there north americans but uneducated fish keepers would probably disagree. i own a vieja bifasciatus and these fish r real characters, YOU MUST BUY YOUNG versions tho, any cichlid that has matured elsewere will struggle 2 fit into a comunity (Cichlid) tank.

uhhh, right. I decided, through the help of my boy p_power, that I'm gonna go with some amphilophus lyonsi. Even though I'm not big on flowerhorns, these guys really really remind me of them. Sort of a miniature version, and they look awesome. Top pic is male, bottom is female. Gonna go with 6 juvies and making the blue dempsey the centerpiece. :headbang2

 , ill keep you guys posted when ive got it all set up and running.

Awesome pics 'futbol' fanatic! Just want to share my personal experience with you. My 2.5-inch blue dempsey chases the other small blue dempsey's so much that I might have to separate it. But when it was with larger fish it never cared about them. If you go with the blue D. I would mix it with non-aggressive fish while it's young. But when it gets older you never know, it just might act like a normal JD. I had both and sold the regular JD because it was tough on my blues. Now the blue is acting like the JD once all the other fish were moved (frontosa were in the tank and larger than the blue D.) So it may work in the beginning with the Amphilophus lyonsi but not so well in the end. Some one else here has a large blue D. in a mixed tank. Ask him or her for advice (they have a blue D. in their avitar).
