blue diamond piranhas

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Right now, I have 8 2" RBPs in a 75g. I've had other RBPs together before too, but I'll keep w/ these for right now and then move on to Spilos somebody said? Could I keep a couple of those together while they're small?

8 to 9 inches at least my black dimond is 8 inches and just little black on him

The only shoaling piranhas are members of the pygocentrus family. I have known experienced keepers to have shoaled serrasalmus geryi together, but if trying to co-had rhoms you will be wasting your time and money.

If you want an awsome piranha shoal, I would try going with some pygos (caribes, ternetzis, pirayas, and reds) Just make sure you have a really large tank and double the required filtration because they are super messy eaters. The max amount of pygos that could be kept for life in a 75 gallon tank would be 3. 4 would be pushing it.

Rhoms are really neat fish though. Once he gets settled in and knows his territory anything you drop in the tank will become food. Good luck!

Alright, thanks for the advice man. I'm still debating if I want a blue diamond or a purple spilo... I know the diamonds are prolly meaner though.

I have both and I'd prefer the Blue Diamond. Just my opinion.
