Squiggle didn't have back problems did he? I wouldn't be too surprised if the lump that apparently killed him was due to stress. Were you unable to obtain a larger tank, unwilling to do so, or did it just not occur to you that being forced to live in an environment which was probably a foot wide might not be healthy for an 18 inch long fish, however manueverable? I'm not trying to be mean. I just want to understand the thought process (or lack thereof) involved in keeping such a large fish in such a small tank.
