this is it. im not trying to start a fight. my lfs had a few brought in from a guy who shut down his tank. they were around 25-30 bucks.

I tell you what, you go buy all of them for 30 a piece and I will give you 35 a piece for everyone of them! you could make yourself $15!! deal?! lol
seriously, for your sake I hope your right. that would be a deal of a lifetime.

I will be getting a blue eye pleco this week. I already named him BLUEY. Bluey will be housed in his own 75 gallon aquarium. I was wondering what kind of gravel to put in with him ( or should I leave the bottom of the tank bare)? My aquarium right now had bright blue gravel so I don't know if its good for a blue eye pleco or not ( Will the blue gravel stress him out cause he's not use to the bright blue color). I know driftwood is a must cause they eat them and caves or plants for hiding places. Also how long should I wait before I start feeding him? I know most fish wont eat for two or three days while they adjust to a new tank. Last question I have is how often should I do water changes and how much should I take out of the tank ( Like 50 percent water changes or less ). Please help me answer all of my questions for I've paid $1,500 for this rare specimen and dont want him to die.....

I guess my blue gravel is okay other than taking some out ( cause its 5 inches think from top to bottom ). I might also get real plants to put in with it ( or should I get fake ones )?

Don't take this the wrong way - did you research the feeding habits of this plec before you bought it? I think you'll find they are rather not picky when it comes to eating plants. Pretty much all of them will taste just fine. I imagine *if* you could feed it enough it may leave live plants alone ... but there are precious few ways to keep a 13" plec fed all the time. As an Hypostomus species, they'll eat anything and everything that doesn't run away (just take a gander at their teeth, and you'll see those teeth are pretty utilitarian).

I'd just go with a lot of wood. Nothing shows worse than a $1500 fish that looks like it lives in Vegas (plastic and fake). Or at least, I'd imagine nothing looks worse ...

I didn't make the trip to San Antonio . But I will drive an hour to Harlingen and go to the local fish store that has plenty of driftwood and supplies. Dang I'm easily looking at spending an extra $200 for the supplies (Food, plants, driftwood, new filter, and some of that ready tank mix ). I plan on cleaning my aquarium 100 percent and then adding the ready tank chemicals that way my aquarium will be already for BLUEY when he arrives Tuesday . THANKS for all the help from you guys
