I know mine is. The guy i got them from breed electric blues out of them.

Mines in a tank with a 6'' female that hes paired with. Trying to get them to breed. But there still settlin in and the heater thats on it is crap and i cant get the temp over 75 so IDK if they will or not.

Mine laid eggs 2 days ago but they died from a ammonia spike.

Blue gene jacks look just like regular dempseys but they carry the gene that could produce blue offspring. The only way to know for sure to get one from a someone who reputable or breed it and see. If a blue Dempsey and regular Dempsey breed the offspring should be blue gene jacks.

So I would have to breed mine to really tell?

thats the only way for you... if the place you purchased him from knows then you wouldnt have to. otherwise there is no way to "see his Genes" other than in his/her offspring

Whats the percentage of EBJD fry if breeding Blue gene male x Blue gene female. Mine just bred.

thanks!

There is never an acurate percentage. You could get 25% electric blue. Or u could only get one. Somettime you might not get any that are electric blue. Its just the luck of the draw.

breeders I know use the blue gene and mate it to the EJBD (forgot which was male and female.

looking in there tank you wouldnt know they would throw blue fish.

The LFS I got him at had about 10 of them smaller than this. They all looked different from regular JD's. The owner said that he got them from a breeder.

Damn he is stunning. Forget what he is worth hold onto to him or try and get a mating pair.
