The tank is not in direct sunlight; in fact, it barely receives any sunlight, if any. I'm not sure on the nitrates; I need to get more test strips. :irked:

That's just odd, looks like something is leaching into the water. Do you have any blue colored stones in there? Might be something your feeding also. I would go with weekly waterchanges and be done with it.....

Edit: Just looked at the pics again and it's gota be coming from the fake plants? Or those fake logs? You can try to remove them on the next water change just to see?

I took all of the fake plants out before my last 100% water change before Thanksgiving, but the water still turned blue-green again within a few days. The only decorations now are some live plants, a shell, and the gravel.

The fake logs are in my gar aquarium (not my lungfish aquarium) and haven't leached at all.

That's what it seems to be to me, but I'll see what everyone else thinks. The algae wafers that I feed the lungfish do contain a small amount of blue dye; it's last on the list of ingredients in the wafers.

i dunno but to me it all seems to point to algae?????

The aquarium receives very little natural sunlight and little light in general, and I haven't had any other previous algae problems. The water has the appearance of being dyed blue-green rather than having algae in it; it isn't cloudy at all, just blue-green...
