OK guys, im not a salt-water keeper, i do freshwater. But i was in talking to my lfs about a shipment they are getting, he said they are getting a blue ring octopus, he then continued to explain how he was not going to be the person who has to clean it. Which i can't blame him for not wanting to.

I was just wondering if any of you keep these? are they at all common or expensive? and lastly why would you keep something so deadly?

y r u interested in buying that. do u want to die? i dunno y ppl would want to keep them. oh well people theese days.

seriously, i would never even imagine keeping something like that. If i were to buy something like that, i would hope my family would get me help, cause it is like a death wish. My jaw nearly hit the floor when he said they were getting it in and were going to sell it.

A lot of LFS actually WILL get them if you order them and I have even heard of some keeping blue rings in stock.

I just can't understand how I can get a blue ring octopus but piranhas & FW rays are restricted, well at least here in Cali.

Yeah, Blue rings should be banned completely from the trade. You'd be dead before you realized you made a mistake.

:iagree:

Would probably be the best way to go, but no warning.

You would think as a store owner he would be concerned about his liability if/when that octo kills either an employee or the person who buys it.

I would think a good lawyer could argue that the shop owner was criminally negligent by allowing the deadly octo in the store and willfully exposing his workers and the public to a potentially dangerous situation.

I don't understand that at all, they only live for two years AND they can kill you.

Some symtoms are as follows:

Cool.
