Blues Crays Bred!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
You fascinating bassturd! I love it! I one day hope to follow in your footsteps and successfully breed the blue cray. I has unsuccessfully tried once, but will not give up!

Way to go!

CONGRATULATIONS!
I have a blue crayfish as well.
How do you tell which is the male and which is the female?
Thanks!

Thanks everyone! You can tell male female by checking the bottom of the cray. Male will have 2 bones between the tail and the abdomen. Males generally have long thin claws and females have short, thick claws. Females also have longer swimmeretts.

Any updates? How long does it take for them to hatch anyway?

Some hatched, but they all got eaten. The female is still carrying some eggs, so I'll wait and see when they hatch.

Can someone tell me what kind of crayfish this is... I wanna get another one just dont know where or what kind it is... its like bright red... This pic doesnt do its coloring justice

Any sample pics of males and females crayfish?

I'll make a video. I also have some old clips of the male. If you really want pictures I can pm you some.

The male is dead now, I started another thread all about it. I don't really want to talk about that anymore though. :(

You should pull the female next time she has eggs.

I was going to, but I didn't have tank space. When the eggs were really large and about to hatch, I had the space, but my carpinte escondidos spawned and I had to use the other tank to separate the other fish.
