BOB IS GONE, AND IM LOST. RIP BOB

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
damn man, so sorry to hear it.. sounds like bob meant a whole lot to you! a part of this hobby is to take these kinds of losses and we all do from time to time.

I haven't even been down in the room where the tank is yet. I can't bring myself to see it empty. I know I need to do some tests and water changes if I'm going to get another fish, but at the same time, it is just too much to handle right now. I can't drain the tank either, as to me, that is the ultimate way of erasing him, and I never want to do that. I think I'm going to remove the driftwood he always hung out by. He had one favorite spot in the tank. I want that spot to be bare in his memory.

Any recommendations for new fish? I love arowanas, but I'm a little worried that if I just run off and get a new one, Bob will be forgotten, and he was so amazing for me.

A pic from happier times. I am so sad that he is gone, but I am very proud of how much he flourished under my care.

He was beautiful. I remember when my male ram died a few weeks ago I felt pretty bad just because he was so beautiful. I told my girlfriend about it and swore a lot but I got over it and concentrated on my other fish. I think you should get another fish, not to replace him, but, to continue being a fish keeper! Maybe try an oscar?

actually, I'm thinking a black arowana. I loved Bob, and I'm not going to replace him with another silver. A black aro is reasonably different though.

I cried for two days when my bichir died, I loved her and had raised her from a sickly little walmart fish to the beast she was when she died.

I couldn't stand to get a fish...I had a hamster until she got wet tail...less than a month before my wedding. Now I have a betta, and he is wonderful.

It sucked, and turned me off to pets for a month, but after a while you start to miss the love only a critter can give.
:)
