Body Disposal. Help!

This is going to sound terrible but it is another/different option. You can seal the fish in a bag, freeze it and take it into a taxidermist (spelling) they can clean it and preserve the skeleton and make it into an ornament that you can display. A while back there were a few people asking for dead fish in the marketplace to do this very thing. I personaly put large fish in bags and go the trash route but have always wanted to try this route as well. Seems like a unique way to preserve what your fish meant to you.

Hells yes. I just hacked the head off the SA lungfish I've got in my freezer and skeletonized it. Man the dental plates are awesome. Whenever something croaked, be it lizard, turtle, fish, etc, I'll typically attempt to get at least some part of it for display in the "bone box". After 10 years working in LFS I've got quite the collection of fish skulls, jawbones, dried inverts, scales, etc...

Just never show your "collection" to the police. They are kinda weird about things like that. As long as you have no dog or cat parts in there though you would probably be ok...if you arrange them in a nice display in a frame though...for some reason that makes it OK....

Thanks Joe...Yeah she is in the freezer as we speak. I may be able to bury her in my dads back yard. That is where my first kitty is....

I think you overestimate how much law enforcement cares about things, especially perfectly legal things lol. If I was capturing my neighbours cats for parts perhaps....

I don't think it would be an issue, but it would call for some extra attention if there were cops in your house for any reason. The thing is that your typical police officer knows nothing about the legality of owning reptiles/fish, let alone parts of their dismembered bodies. I'v talked to fish and wildlife people who couldn't ID a native fish if I gave them a field guide.

Can you imagine that? "Hey chief, come over here, this guys got a box of skelatal remains in his house."

Just kidding. That's gotta be a pretty cool collection.

If any members feel the need to continue to push your opinions on how hypocritical etc.. people are as a gross general statement, please start your own thread so we can close it accourdingly.. How about we leave the repent/religious undertones out of future post on this thread and get back to posting helpful advice to the OP.
