Bonsai Faders

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Congrats wonder how long till they're free swimming.
I lost the jewel fry I had. When they became free swimming after 4 days of hatching i moved them into a growout tank that used the same water they were hatched in.

Used under gravel filtration... the next day 100 fry vanished...

I'm using the same gravel in the bonsai tank kind of nervous for these fry.

Yeah never had luck separating fry from the parents either. They'd always died the day after being separated for some reason.

It may be due to in some species of fish the parents actually alter the chemistry of their slime coat to be a feeding source for the fry.
Would angelfish be one of them? Because they were the only ones I ever tried it with. I always figured it was because they are such delicate fish.

So far so good. The fry a huge. They just had a serving a first bites. Looks like a few hundred hatched out.

Praying I learn how to raise fry correctly..
I would just make sure to remove them after a few weeks of free swimming. Atleast then it should limit the parents turning on their fry to make room for more.

The hatchling fry are about a week old. They are free swimming but the mother keeps them in the corner. Some of them are daredevils and are swimming around the tank and the father has to go fetch lol..

All I'm doing to this spawn is to help feed them. Otherwise I'm not touching anything!!
