Bottom feeder for my 75 gallon.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
that guy is about a year and half old, perhaps 7" or so, they do not grow fast. be a long time before he achieves 12" if at all, cept for the pleco all looks good to me, but if ready to move the pleco, and at 8" he is pressing the tank now, all sounds good to me.

will need to keep in mind that large water changes will be needed least once a week, I do my 180 twice a week, 80%. rest with lighter stock once a week.

More than 50%, jeez, is it because of the pleco? I did notice the nitrates weren't rising as quick in my 30 since I took him out. Well...whatever it takes to make my fish happy and healthy :). I will find someone at my local fish club to be a "godfather" for my pleco and by that I mean they can take him if he gets to big or to dirty before I can upgrade.

you have a python or such for water changes? not doing the bucket thing are yu?

Python? Not sure what that is. For my 30 I just siphon it out the window that is right next to the tank. For the 75 I do siphon it into a 5 gallon bucket and dump it off my deck. And then fill up a 5 gallon bucket add chemicals and pour it in my tank.
What do you do for water changes differently. If you are referring to those large systems with pc and the like I think they are to expensive for me.

get a water changing system. I syphone all my tanks out the window or slider but for filling its the only way to go. look it up online, python water changing system. they make cheaper but the hose will tend to collapse, get the python if you can afford, knock off with 20ft hose around 17 bucks. be leave me you want this. makes life so much easier.

Oh that.s what they are, I have had them in my hand before at my LFS but I cant use them because the only faucet in my house that it can hook up to is my laundry tub which is about 50 feet away. When my friend came over and helped me lug my tank in he brought over a 50 foot one to fill it and like I said the only faucet it fit was in my basement. You said they were only $17! The ones at my LFS were $40 for 25 feet and $70 for 50 feet!

they come with adapters to fit kitchen sink or bathroom, I fill from my laundry room. you screw the aerator out and the adapter screws in, again you want this, can get longer hose at a hard ware store. the easier something is to do? the more likely wr are apt to do it, water changes should not be a choire, and do not need to be.

I just siphon out 18gal twice a week from my 75gal into tote bin and then just fill from hose from outside. But it's just a bichir tank. Not very sensitive to my changes
