ive shipped hundreds on ebay. he probably has alot of orders to fill. to bag, pack, label. it doesnt sound like that much work but belive me it is. give him a few days before he ships it out. He could be waiting till next week so it has all week so it doesnt sit somwhere for the weekend.

Keep in mind from HIS perspective. Everyone knows that you can print out a money order and a good many of them are fakes these days. I wouldn't send anything until the money order was cashed and cleared - which is not an instant process.

So, it could be a scam, but it could also be that he's not trying to get scammed either. BTW, when I order plants from aquabid, I go with the sellers who have a lot of good feedback. That sort of thing IS important.

And really, do you honestly believe you're able to stay off the grid by not having anything "track your money?" No way, no how. Embrace technology and use it. I bet there is another reason you don't use it, but that's just my opinion.

Btw, by sending a money order, you have pretty much dismissed your ability to resolve your dispute. By using paypal, you get buyer protection and a refund can be issued. ON THAT NOTE: DO NOT SEND MONEY AS GIFTS. Paypal provides a service and deserves to be paid as such. By sending money as a gift, you not only cheat paypal of their service fee, but also negate the protection you would normally get.

You got jacked bro.

When it comes down to internet security if the seller does not have quick and easy communication and doesn't respond within 1 business day, 9/10 there's a major problem.

The fact you sent money without protection just seals the deal. If you ordered on Friday and didn't hear back by Monday I'm like 90% sure you got ripped off.

Every deal I've ever conducted online, be it ebay, CL, Kijiji, online stores. Theres always immediate responses, and always ALWAYS communication between me and the seller/buyer. There is no excuse for no response with online transactions. An email takes a second.

Even if he was waiting for the money to clear he would still respond to notify you of the delay.

You must know how to pick only the best sellers, I've bought and sold laptops and laptop parts mostly, on ebay, for a couple of years now (and those have to be some of the biggest 'scam articles' around) and it's very rare to find a seller who will give "immediate response" to receiving a payment. Some sellers will never respond to email, they just don't have the time or the need to do so.
Unlike Ebay, Aquabid doesn't appear to have as many'rules' for sellers - selelrs don't always post their shipping practises, but with those that dop anyway, a lot will say they only ship on a particular day. Could be that you seller only ships Fridays to avoid the possibility of items being 'held' in a PO somewhere over the weekend.
Whatever happens, less than a week is way too early to say that you've been scammed (or jacked), wait it out (I know it's not easy no matter how much is involved) you never know, you may even get a 'bonus' with your order to make up for the lack of communication.
As far as using Paypal to send a gift to someone......NO WAY......Paypal (owned by ebay) fees are a real rip-off, If I'm sending someone a gift then I know the person I'm sending to, a check is the safest and cheapest way (a check can be cancelled, try cancelling a paypal payment once it's gone through).

Relax its only been a few days. You guys are making a big fuss over nothing. Taking a few days to ship an item is common. And it take a few days from the ship date to get to you also. Also factor in how much money was sent. You think the guy is gonna do some huge scam over 10 or 20 bucks? Why would he put his reputation in jeopardy over a little amount of money? It's also the holiday season, people are busy, mail is slower etc.

Trying to get an immediate response from a seller or an immediate shipment is ridiculous. Seriously, if you are that impatient go get it yourself at the store.

You understand the way business works, and you know that retailers pay 3% when you use your credit card at a store, right? Paypal also charges 3% to provide their service. I don't think you can say it's a ripoff. It's an industry standard for a service provided. With that 3%, you do get an extra layer of dispute resolution.

My statement about Paypal fees being a rip off was in response to the suggestion that using paypal was the best way to send someone a gift, not make a purchase.
Don't see the point of your remark about retailers paying 3% when I use a credit card at a store (actual charges vary by retailer and the volume of business they do with individual credit card companies). Credit card companies give you far more security in a transaction than Paypal does, and credit card companies don't tend to put a hold on your receipts because they think a particular item you sold could be a "high fraud item" nor do they freeze an account - for basically as long as they feel like it - because you didn't do something the way they wanted. Paypal is not a bank and as such your paypal account is not insured in any way, nor are Paypal regulated by Federal laws the way banks are (which is why they can make up their own rules as they go along).

And yes, I do understand the way business is run, I was runnig my own business 20 years ago!

Im calling major bull on that one! Youve obvoiusly never sold somthing on ebay. All you have to do is open a complanit and they pull the money up to 90 days. i had a customer tell paypal that i didnt send him everything described. i sold an engine, i stated multiple times that You need a bump start. they took my money a refunded it because it didnt come with a PULL START.

i have 700 feedback id have 1k but people never send feedback :irked:GRR rant over
