another thing is to go on clear calm days for the best results...were gray or white shirts as then they think you are a cloud and you can get closer...sky blue works well aswell to blend into the sky...if you have red or black they see everything you do and run early...keep your shaddow behind you as they will bolt if your shaddow coversthem or they see it...
by the time i take it up, i will buy the good equipment, just to ensure quality and safety. my biggest concern with the snap-back was me being on the end of the arrowhead, and not the fish.

im guessing that you would suggest alot of target practice with the bow before attempting to shoot a fish?

the only way to get practice is to sink a milk carton and shoot at it or just shoot at some fish till you get it...i stood on a table and shot at a pizza box by instinct...it kinda helped...you can't use sights for it as they will not work...you must aim below the fish do to the defraction...i always say aim low and then when you think it is low enough drop it a few more inches...watch were your aro hits inrelation to the fish and then adjust for the next shot till you start hitting them...you will miss alot...i still miss alot carp are smart and have great vison...you will learn alot about the fish as you are 'hunting them' witch to hunt something you need to know its habbits, prefurences, likes and dislikes to get your prey...it is a challenge every time you go out...the oll' saying ''shooting fish in a barrel'' is much much harder then it sounds...

still sounds like i want to do it. thanks for the tips and info sbuse. ill prolly reach a point where ill get bummed out about missing so many, and then ill end up hitting one lol. we have some nice clear carp stream near where i live, but they r private property, so i will have to see what i can do when i get settled in somewhere, will have to find a nice place to shoot at.

so far my biggest carp that i have landed after shooting it was in a 4' wide stream and the fish was 18.75lbs...i have shot some that have pulled the arrow that were over 50lbs...some were well over 50lbs they were over 4' long and 2' from belly to back...i know the largest shot in my state was 84lbs or 86lbs yet the hook and line record is 55lbs...my first trips out i was 1 hit for over 100 shots...you will see how close you get and be pumped for the corection shot and that will never end...it is hard to do...i didnt get out much last year so this year i have been horrible...the barb of the arrow has nikked every fish i have shot at, but i cant seem to stick one...i just glance off them...idk if it is cause i am shooting with a different bow as my old one got stolen or if i just am that rusty...thats why i cant stop shooting at them as it is ALWAYS a challenge!!!
