bowfin and gar

Where can i get bowfin. The bowfin is the reason i got into this hobby and i can't seem to find one anywhere. Im in metro detroit and could easily catch one in lake st. Clair but im afraid to bring a wild caught into my tank. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
 
Catch one and quarantine it for about a week. Treat it for parasites. It's about this time of year when I catch the little guys in minnow traps.
