yea well it kinda doesn't exactly say "im from HI under" his avatar. there fore its an honest mistake

Sorry Mr. V:), I just know he's from Hawaii. I didn't happen to look if that was listed under his avatar.

I don't know much about the eating habits of yellow marginated box turtles, but you could try some fruits like strawberries, raspberries or blueberries. Maybe even some chopped up tomatoes. I know that my box turtles are really attacted to red fruits.

the tomato idea failed ill try and find some other stuff hopefully meal worms maybe...and mr v not to step on toes but i did mention...

petstores dont bring them in cause their price(kingsnake sells babies for $145 for 2" shell and i saw a 2yr for $250, so imagine the price of an adult the ship to hawaii...thats why price per turtle most pet stores here wont bring em) and not many people know about these compared to the ornates and such...

I used to have a couple of Asian box turtles. They really liked eating live minnows out of their food dish.

ok ill try that cause he didnt eat yesterday...and ill post pics tonight i promise...i just got a wii so kind of focusin on that...

ok finally as promise...and here is his temp 4ft by 4ft enclosure...

sorry for so many flicks...anyone can tell the sex...

Nice turtle! I don't really know much about them but if they are similar to sex like our native box turtles then I would say female because the plastron (lower shell) appears to be flat. But don't quote me on this. Males have a concaved plastron for balancing on the females shell during mating.

thats what i was thinking too...but the plastron is hinged and i dont know anything about hinge torts or box turts with hinges i dont know it that affects the concave idea...but it does obviously affect the shape of the plastron when the turt pulls all the way in...
