um, scientists didnt disprove the theory that he got hit.... but you guys are right. you keep fish so your word means more than someone who gets paid a ridiculous amount of money to be correct with what their talking about.
The boy may have been hit by debris from the small crater left by the meteorite. At that speed I doubt he could tell that he got struck before the meteorite hit the ground. He probably will get the the meteorite back after they study it a bit more, lucky kid.
When I was young, about 10 yrs old, I also saw a fireball one night. I saw it split into three parts but I never found any pieces. It probably burned up before it hit the ground.
at 1 point in the article, it was written that the meteorite travelling at 30,000mph bounced off the kids hand. yup, thats one of the dumbest things i ever read...
"The white-hot meteorite bounced off the schoolboy's hand and hit the ground so hard it left a foot-long crater in the tarmac - as well as a three-inch scar on his hand."
This is so much BS i dont care what the kid says he didnt get hit by a rock even a pea sized one doing 30,000 mph. Even a rock that small if traveling at 30,000mph would have anough force to tear his hand off, certainly make a hole and a big exit wound, because it would have gone through him at that speed. Especially if it can make a large 12" hole in the floor!!
