picked up this fish a few days ago thinking it was a female but now I’m not so sure. It’s a little washed out but these are the pics I was able to get. Male or female?

Are they the same fish? First 5 pics, I thought boy, but last two pics make me think girl.
Looks male to me, and I played with the last two pics a little.
When brightened up a bit, they still look male to me, because in both I don't see any semblance of a blue "beard". Unless of course, your lighting washes it out..

Ok. I took him out of quarantine today and put him into a larger tank w another dempsey. He darkened up immediately so I might try to take new pics and post them to see if that makes it any clearer. If this one is a male, i wonder if him and my other jack will tolerate each other. If not, I’ll move him to my larger tank.
