Brackish Riparium

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Aww man, you're killing me... I wish I had some room, those palms look awesome! but I actually just realized this weekend that I'm probably going to have to downsize soon. We're moving this summer and it looks like its going to be a little smaller place, therefore smaller tank space...

Well you should post up pictures of whatever new kinds of setups you have. You had that one tank with the riparium plants going real well.

Yeah, here's my current tank...

Don't know what I'll be going to next, but its gonna be hard to fit 5 linear feet of plants into something alot smaller...

Wow those plants look happy.

You could probably fit most of them into a 3-foot tank. It looks like you have several healthy mangroves and you should be able to sell a couple of those off easy enough to make extra space. You can also wrap the planters around the sides if you are short on room in a smaller tank.

It looks like you still have the packing moss wrapped in with the palm. You can remove that, although if you are moving out it might be just as well to leave it in place.

SELL MY MANGROVES?! Never! lol, I'm gonna hang on to them definitely in case some (heaven forbid) don't like being bonsai'ed.

Its kinda hard to tell in the pic, but I'm already wrapping around the sides and have a few pots in the front. I'm not willing to part with the mangroves, the palm, or the ferns... and I've got the Bacopa pretty well trained onto your rafts, so we'll see what size tank I can fit in the new place and then I'll CRAMM the plants in.

Min doesn't look like a whole lot yet because it is only about 12" tall, but it is rooting well in the riparium and just beginning to develop prop roots growin out higher up on the stem.

I haven't had time to work on this more lately. I hope to get back at it sometime this week.

I am looking for chromide cichlids. If anybody has any leads that I can follow please let me know.
