Here is the final product! My 75g modeled after Jc119's design. Thats the 3 socks plus 4lbs of rings (have 3 more lbs to add) and 2 liters of matrix (gonna order another gallon). Once I start to build up nitrates I will add a ton of pothos to the sump. I'm going to make 2 hanging boxes out of eggcrate.

I added my big male green severum about an hour ago along with my 3.5" festae and my 6" L190. So it now has 5 fish. I also have a small flagtail that chris (paulbearer) is holding for me. I will get him tuesday. I also came across a baby fire eel at the store where my wife bought my tank. Its like 4" tops but I think i'm gonna get it tomorrow and grow it out in my small bowfront. I miss mine dearly and am ready for a new one!

Ok review time...

Laguna max flo 2000: Awesome pump. Dead quiet, way better than the magdrives I have sworn by. Amazing flow. I wont be needing any powerheads. I did hard plumb them with 3/4" pvc and I love it. Only complaint is they were a pain to use my pond boxes with because of the inlet/outlet layout, but I made it work.

Beamswork led's: still love them! Cant beat them imo.

3x duda diesel filtersocks: Sock are the way to go. Beats the heck out of anything I have ever used for mech filtration.

Terta pond boxes: I love them. I dont know why they arent more common in the hobby.

Jäger 300 watt heaters: They are a tad large but work perfectly in my sump. Curious how long they will hold up though. They are crazy cheap. No complaints yet.

Black diamond sand: It took FOREVER to clean, but it is well worth it. It looks amazing. No cuts while washing it. Mine didnt have any of those little glass slivers you see sometimes. It doesn't get stirred up with my 2 pumps and is easy to vacuum. No complaints about it either.

Overall I couldnt be more pleased with my setup and I highly recomend deep sea aquatics tanks!

I love happy endings. I had a 100 gallon bowfront develop a sudden opening on one of its rounded edges. The feeling after setting up the new tank is too good for words -- especially when your favorite fish survives the ordeal. Congrats.

Thanks for the kind words. Thomas the prized severum is enjoying his new home. I will get some pics of him tomorrow. My dw has almost fully sunk, then I can start actually scaping the tank and get some good pics.

Small update. Fixed the micro bubble issue. Used my A.S.E. skills and used a zip tie to cover most of the siphon break hole. Works for now. We'll see if it lasts. Also I picked up a tiny fire eel to grow out. He is 4" max. Now I just have to get him eating. He is in my 36g bowfront with some neons until he is big enough for the big tank.

A few pics I snapped with the wifes new camera. I am a terrible photographer and know nothing about taking pictues, but some turned out decent...
