My 2 male brasiliensis are 95.-10" the female is 6". They have been that size for quite some time, don't think they'll get any bigger. I wouldn't recommend brasiliensis if you have no substrate. Though not a true earth eater they do spend the better part of their day sifting the substrate.

I ended up adopting 2 jack dempseys from someone who had to get rid of their tank. They are beautiful! I will post pics as soon as they settle into their quarantine tank. Thanks all for the options and advice.
