Youd be really surprised that the vast majority of monster fish keepers have never even heard of MFK.

I live in a small midwestern city (Louisville) were fish keeping is far from popular yet just last year some one found a huge black and med sized Asian aro dead at the wharf some one had dumped. Also take my large NTT for example. Some joe shmo traded him for $15 worth of store credit. Any one who even skimmed over this or any other similar site would know that a 12" NTT is worth more then $15!

Again it just goes to show that you know never know who is next door.

Oh and just the other day I was at my LFS and I over heard this "Aww that is a cute lil teacup stingray, ole Joe Dirt down in (some rural city in Southern Indianda) gots these two black rays with white polka dots havin babies all the time." :WHOA:

Needless to say I immediately interrupted and asked for the fellers info, but it was one of those well he is a friend of friend situation. I told him that if he ever talks to him to immediately contact me...we will see were that goes...

the ban is of course a good thing. Ultimately, it's not how cheaply you can obtain the desirable rays that's most important, it's the species viability in the wild. I rather the prices were so high i can't afford to keep them than for them to be extinct in the wild.

I know of about 30 that came this way ;) From John..

Wow 40000 rays. What is the reason, why can't we get more of them to the USA? We are closer. In Asia price of the rays are almost the same as here and some are cheaper. Reg Motoro 4-5" in Thailand start at $25 but the shipping , health paper cost more than the rays if buy in small quantity. Teal

I'm just not happy with the price that these rays are going for..... I would really love to own a black ray without having to go hungry........:(

That's kinda the problem, we had a lot of owners, what we need is breeders.

So true.. It will come in time.. Probably longer than some will want to wait but it will come. Then as they get more plentiful you'll have a few more places to obtain one and it might get more competitive for sellers.
