Brazil Ban ~ A good thing?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
you have to think of it this way with all the million of rays that were imported over the years their should be loads of breeders already

were are all the adult leopoldi and other black rays now thats what you should ask if they are all dead it just goes to show their are not enought good fishkeeprs out their who can take care of a ray for life or millions died because the didnt travel well and didnt feed

We also have to remember that rays are fish and fish dont "generally" live that long anyway....., I know rays can live to around 20 years....., but its just like dogs...., most live 10-15....., but some dont....., even with good care and regular trips to the vet......

If a ray was imported in 95'-00' it would be about 10 years old now....., which is pretty old.... Rays are dependent on so many things that are often out of your hands/reach......

Just out of curiosity.., We should try to figure out who has the oldest ray in possesion..... I wonder how old Mike's big Henlei is???

So we should ban bettas and raise the price to $500 for one cause the vast majority of people who buy one kill them before they live out their natural life?

IMO the only good, if any, the ban has done is to help wild populations and even that is debateable. Oh I guess its also good if you already own one or are breeding them...

I've never heard of a ray dieing of old age. In a zoo somewhere they supposively have a motoro that is inbetween 30-35 years old. Very interesting to know how old they realy get ;)
