Yes; the ban has technically been up (in theory, not practice), since last year,or, depending on who you ask, as early as 2006. Anyways, thus far, pretty much all hypancistrus and pseudacanthicus, amongst others (but these are the most notable) are banned from Brazilian export until they are officially described.
OH I hope I can still get the ones I want I think I have a call or two to make.

I just got this link check it out idk how accurate it is but it's a start.

I agree....
In this hobby, as in everything else, nothing is 100% black or 100% white.
I think people need much more info about fieldwork, collecting, etc,etc....because I am sure that all collectors, researchers, exporters, etc, etc don't work in the same way??
Do we know how many wild fishes are coming out of Brazil every year?....and from Peru?....or Argentina?...Uruguay?
Hmmmmm....we need more facts before we really know.

i just got off the phone with a store that can get L25s and he told me that For the most part the asian/UK hobbiest market it NUTS. He said he had a guy from germany pay $600 !!!! Just in shipping to but two cats. So the brazilians being worried about taking to many fish for fear of low wild populations doesn't seem like a unsupported fear. HOWEVER when those damns are built there won't be any good habitait for these fish anymoe anyway.

I just hope I can get the ones I want before then ban if in full affect.
