Brazil pleco ban

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The ban is easily circumvented by sourcing your fish out of Columbia or Peru. A lot of fish are now coming up the river to those countries from Brazil and are being exported from there.

very interesting. I never thought of that. If the fish migrate out of the country then the ban is no longer in affect.

Exactly ...WC Zebras, black rays ...anything you want from Brazil can all be sourced these days from Colombian exporters who have plenty of experience in moving "banned"stuff around ;-)

Interesting sounds a little on the illgal side but if a fish swims up/down river out of a country and it can be proven where it was caught there is no ban on said fish. I.E. If you get a guy to catch a L46 out of brazilian waters (say peru) it's not banned from there.

As far as I know there is no ban on the import of said fish so It doesn't matter to US officals where it came from as long as we legally allow it. Not like the asain aros which are the other way around we ban the import but the export from aisa is not banned.

there allways seems to be ways around this stuff.

They aren't talking about Brazilian fish swimming to Columbia, they are talking about people catching fish in Brazil and smuggling them to Columbia, Peru, etc. for shipping.

Looks like Scobinancistrus, Pseudacanthicus and a few more will pull through this time.

Baryancistrus and Peckoltia are prob gonna get banned.

Baaaahhh....

$600 for a L25? I think thats BS..

My lists prices are still normal.. L24 and L25 are also still normal priced on my lists.
