me want some kelberis!!! ;) maybe in time right brian? shh
You got it ;)

All,
Rapps has a load of confirmed kelberi coming in for those that don't already know. Order them from him, so he can sell them and get even more :D
Also, he'll have more than just one size, which will be nice for those of you that ordered pinima from him and other, larger Cichla. This way they can all go in together :)

 those are indeed sexy..... can't wait to see how they turn out when they get bigger.

Check out this picture Brian. Definitely two different specie of Kelberi. From the head shape, snout, bar pattern, color and also behavior.

What do you think..

Joey,
That photo is very inspiring to me. I will keep these 10 and grow them out a bit. I am also planning on getting a few from Rapps and grow them up separately to see the differences in the two groups.
What's nice about Rapps' stock is that he knows exactly where it came from, compared to other stock where it's a mere guess. To some this makes Rapps' stock more desirable. I know I am excited about the shipment!!
As for yours, Joey. Hard to say. They are both Cichla kelberi for sure, possibly just two different collection locales. Remember our conversation on variation though ;)
Where are those boys from???

From my recollection. The top one is from the Rio Araguaia region and the one at the bottom is from the Ceara's. Anthony had brought in I believe like 2-3 shipments from these areas.

The Araguaia ones are most similar to the ones that Rapps is getting in, and those are most similar to the origanl holotype of the species. I believe his are "Alto" Araguaia, which means upper Araguaia. Jeff Rapps could explain better. The "Cera" region is Tocantins I think, but I may be wrong on that. Same species, different locales, all beautiful :)

hey brian.. not meaning to derail.. but with your old orino. did they blue in the fins start to come in real dark?
