Nope at most 8 fish in the tank at once. Biggest fish I've ever had was the 16 inch Gold clown knife. tank is 220 gallon. Only had the big ID shark for about 2 days also.
Do you like the Gold Clown Knife? My store got one in the other day and I was thinking about putting him in the 225g with my Polys once it's ready
absolutely loved him! He's currently for sale at OSA. He'd do great in the 225 depending on the footprint of the tank. He never bothered my poly's at all.
I did see yours on the OSA site and he is awesome looking! The tank has a 5'x3'(60"x36") footprint and is 2'(24") tall. I have never seen a Gold Clown in person before so I thought he would be a interesting addition to the tank. There will also be a Cichla Ocellaris in there as well, but the Gold Knife at my store is only about 4" or 5" so he might go in a grow-out for a bit. I think he'd be fine in the 225g as is, but just to assure he don't get snapped at by the larger Polys I might just go ahead and grow it out for a couple months.
Sounds like a solid plan...mine ate everything. Mostly live worms,hikari sinking carnivore pellets,minnows, and silver sides.... grew from 6 inches to his current 16 inches since september. Fought my dorado and my bass hardcore though.
My P. Bass is smaller than the Knife we got, but he eats like crazy so I think by the time I get the tank in running order he will be a good size and hopefully will get along with the Knife.
And it's a plywood tank I'm building myself so I got to choose my footprint lol. I went with length and width over height obviously for the Polys. IMO height isn't as important as length and width unless you have a fish that requires depth like some sort of "deep water" species(can't think of anything specific off the top of my head).
