Actually I think your right I have been keeping pikes for a long time off and on and I never paid attention until I looked at the juves. These are sp Venezuela. I am actually happy that these are vene's because they get huge and I would love to breed them. I know they can be found in Venezuela but fish are hard to import from there. So I will take them. Lol. You made my day 😉

Yes they're awesome pikes for sure supposedly get huge, however no one has ever seen them get even 19 inches no evidence they get HUGE... But still very pretty and thick. I do hope you breed them they're really awesome pikes.

Fish from Venezuela and the Orinoco actually are easy to import not really sure where you heard that from, maybe you meant Brazil... Some exporters smuggle Brazilian fish into Columbia just to import them into the US... Just gives you an idea how it isn't hard to get Venezuelan fish at all.

The reason why I said that Venezuela isn't let in anyone export fish from there is because I used to collect rare piranhas and people would have to smuggle piranhas and other fish from there to Columbia to ship. Yes I do agree that it might be easy to get Venezuelan fish. However I don't think you can get them from there without having to smuggle them. If that makes any sense. What do u think?

There's a local importer that got a shipment from Columbia last week. FYI idk if u know this but Venezuelan pikes are common in Columbia as well. Reason why vennie pikes are common in the states is because Columbia allows export of a lot of fish. Idk Venezuelan exporting laws but most of the fish (I like) that are found in Venezuela are also found in Columbia... So really Venezuelan fish aren't very hard to get compared to certain Brazilian fish

There was an article in amazons i believe. Or somewhere online about fish exports and how smugglers use Venezuela to bring in fish from Brazil so I agree with cren444.

It's a shame because I really want the xingu pikes. they have a head shape to them that I love. Too bad that Era is over.
