I just picked up a large super red Oscar the other day. He/she has paired up with my female albino red and they are currently showing signs of breeding (rock cleaning, lip locking, and the biggest indicator, my confirmed female has her ovipositor out). I have no idea if my newbie is male or not, but I want to be prepared just in case. Any tips or advice?
Should I remove the eggs to prevent possible fighting?

Easiest way to check sex of fish, especially if food motivated, is tease them with food to get them to swin near vertical. Then grab a picture of the area in question.

Then in your editing software you can zoom in on the specified area.

Here we can see that one hole is bigger than the other. Than means it's female. In males these holes are very simular in size.
