Breeding Datnoids?

Hey guys,

Just wondering has anyone tried or succeeded in breeding Microlepis' ?
And what size do they start breeding?

I have got three at the moment and two of them always seems to be together (swimming around together and "guarding" an area together)
Is that a sign or am I just dreaming? :P

as far as i know they have not been successfully bred in captivity
 
I agree with Robert, I have never heard of anyone successfully breeding them, but if it was to happen They would have a gold mine on their hands :D
 
Ahh i see.. and i thought maybe i was onto something!

I do remember hearing that there are some datnoid breeders around... oh well!

I'm hoping i become the first to breed them ! :P

Also, does anyone know whether dat's gain more colour as they grow? i have a 2" indo dat, and recently just started to stabilize and his base colour is slightly to the pale side (kind of beigy type colour). Will he become more yellow/gold or orange as he grow bigger?

Every datnoid is different. Only time will tell. Mine use to be pale but now they are beautiful with dark bars when I see them in my tank. I hope yours will turn stable one day.
 
Yeah, hes becoming stable now, been a month now and recently his bars are jet black at times!
Was just wondering whether his base colour will change to a more yellow or orangey colour!
