Kev after the kind of day that I've had I could use some upliftment.......or a good drink lol.
Your friendly owner is a salesman, do not trust him with out proof.Actually I have a LFS that just got its first shipment of captive bred datnoids. I don't know a lot about datnoids but Iam fairly friendly with the owner and he seemed really excited about them. He said hey were eating well and they seemed very healthy in the tank.
Wikipedia is not accurate and this source of yours is not solid.unfortunately... wikipedia

Yeah I need one tonight... cant wait to space out infront of my tanks. He is correct, but the haven't been releasing them into the wild. The program has met with "limited success". It was probably me who wrote what he's read on Wiki.Sounds good, care to share your source for this information?

Just to add to this the area where the research lab is has been under 2 meters of water for 3 months, so i doubt there's anyth9nig going on at the moment.
they have been bred, but by massive captive programs involving horomones and other things like that run by the Thailand government in order to supplement the lower wild stock.
